The Big5Hike has gained rapid momentum and popularity as an annual sporting event and charitable fundraiser. Our sponsors get great publicity and a huge feel good factor. Corporate sponsors are able to claim a full tax benefit and can improve their social responsibility profile at the same time!

The Royal Drakensberg Primary School Society is an approved Section 18A public benefit organisation (PBO Reference number: 930030293) and donations will be tax deductible. All individuals and companies can receive donation receipts if requested. The School also qualifies as a BEE initiative helping sponsors fulfil their social responsibility and BEE Commitments.

Sponsor a peak

We have five peaks and a lunch spot! Each one needs an anchor sponsor. For R25,000 you get to name the peak for a FULL YEAR. This means that your name appears on all event information, you can decorate and brand your peak on the event day and for a full year, the peak you sponsor will feature your name or the name of your company. Choose your peak:

The Big5Hike is not just a single event but a weekend full of fun! To make the event magic and to ensure our hikers are well fed, well looked after and in high spirits we host dinners, cocktail parties and provide equipment and goodie bags. We would love your assistance in sponsoring an event element. All elements can be branded with your company Logo or a name of your choice.

As a featured sponsor you are named on our website, in event information packs and publications. All sponsorship money goes toward funding the event and toward running the school for the year.

The School was founded in 2007 to provide education for Megan’s own three children as well as to uplift the children of the Amazizi community. The Carte family has owned The Cavern for three generations, employs many people from the local community and has a vested interest and a strong social commitment to uplifting and helping to develop the community around them. The Royal Drakensberg Primary School Society is an approved Section 18A public benefit organisation audited annually by Gresham & Co so you can rest assured that your money is well spent!
